Oh yes! Purpose of the journal! WELL! It's more of an update on success Cuz I feel all accomplished-like and I want to share with with teh internet. (real people won't listen)
As some of you may/may not know, Last year I started writing a one act called Innocence. This one act has taken me to a regional theatre production (Rubicon Theatre, Ventura, CA) first place award at my university's Pre-Professional Writing Conference, and is now undergoing the final supreme editing that happens before being sent away for publication. This very well might be my single step to that elusive fame and fortune that everyone dreams of . Oh, if only. It just seems like everything RIGHT is happening and sometimes it's really easy to be carried away. Forgive *bows politely*
Most of you don't know this at all. As a first semester freshmen, I took on doing two productions at the same time. I actually don't know why I did it, but I did NOT burn and die!! The first production is a musical, The Drowsy Chaperone. The second was a company theatre (with mostly college students) production. It was a ghost-story-telling festival, very fun, very laid-back, great experience. I was asked to choreograph and perform a dance solo for a song that they would sing between stories. The dance, though choreographed while sick, was received with grace and applauded. The which I was very grateful for, considering many other BETTER THAN ME dancers were there in attendance.
In vis-a-vis with the above, I've also been considered by this company theatre to be a mainstay in their company. Which is pretty cool, considering that I'm A FIRST SEMESTER FRESHMEN IN COLLEGE. And already in a company. Yeah, I like the phrase "company."
In a social aspect, after the painful separation between me and my ex, I have hopped on the bandwagon once more and found somebody new. He's a very sweet guy, and I'm lucky to be with him.
My voice is getting better, my range is expanding, and I really can't wait to get back to work with my coach some more before the spring musical rolls around. Because, apparently, they do operas in the spring, not musicals Hm. Well alright.
I really can't wait to see what road I'm on I'm so early on I have no idea where this road may take me But, quoth Lord Of The Rings, "The road goes ever on and on."
Oh And my grades are okay.
